Scultura-Intervento ‘75, 1975

Wood, iron and paint, 13×37,8×49 cm
Mauro Staccioli Archive Museum, Volterra

During 1975, Staccioli carried out several interventions in private Milanese galleries that became increasingly daring and aimed at the extreme denunciation of the incommunicability between the world of art and the public of the street, the “proletarian” public. At Studio Marconi, in a room with a lowered brick vaulted roof, he creates a parallelepiped in cement-finished bricks, an element of obstruction transversal to the passage. The sense of obstruction is also emphasized by the three iron blades that accentuate the critical tension.
