“For me, the triangle is a shape that symbolises reason and rational thought. It’s one of these symbols that represent the genesis of our western culture. And it’s also a non-binary link between different aspects of the world, which has always fascinated me.
At the Farm in Celle, I built a triangle that was partially buried in the ground, with one side on a slight rise in the terrain. I had to consider the height of the vertex compared to the height go the trees and that of the people walking along the path in front. I wanted to construct a kind of threshold, to set uo a physical contact between the onlooker and the place. This explains that a line that runs up as far as the trees, which then runs off towards a hill covered in small oaks, which had been planted there by man, and that’s a kind of architecture too.
[…] I think our relationship with nature is a fundamental aspect of our relationship with the world and the things that surround us, and that’s why I try with my sculpture to get people involved, in thinking, being, living, occupying a space in a rational, logical way.”
