Cerchio Imperfetto, Bruxelles, 2005
Wood, sand and paint, 20.4×18.3×31.5 cm
Mauro Staccioli Archive Museum, Volterra
The “imperfect circle”, with which Staccioli had already intervened for the Boitsfort roundabout in Brussels in 1998, returns to the Belgian capital a few years later, in 2005, in an intervention that Staccioli realised for a private collection. Here, he intervenes in the utterly natural context of the park where he has the opportunity to exploit the slope of the ground, thus further accentuating the apparent sense of instability, of continuous challenge that he gives to the static equilibrium of his poised solids.
