In 1983, Mauro Staccioli developed a project that rearranges a small square in Belforte del Chienti and includes the creation of a monument to the fallen soldiers of all wars. The spot, surrounded by buildings on three sides, is bordered on the fourth side by a road; the sculptor proposes the insertion of trees and a sculpture. The form of the plastic intervention is investigated by inspecting different possibilities until the final choice of a concrete stele to be placed near the road crossing.
