The goal of this online exhibition – including commissioned works by subsequent generations to Staccioli, devised exclusively for digital use – is to animate the Mauro Staccioli archive and make it a tool that looks towards the future rather than just the past. Hence, it is not a ‘virtual exhibition’, in other words, a virtual transposition of works that are actually physical objects, but an exhibition of works which are meant to be experienced through a computer, tablet or smartphone screen. The aim, therefore, is to reflect, use and highlight the distinctive opportunities given by the digital dimension, that is, the dimension set to be more and more of a fixture in the present day and above all in the future.
The works in the list published on this page can be viewed by clicking on the artist’s name and/or photograph. On the page that will open, each work is accompanied by the technical specifications and additional information which includes a statement on the work by the artist and a biography. Furthermore, by affinity of shape, topic or meaning, each digital work is related to a work by Staccioli which is remembered on the same page with a photographic document from the archive
