INVENTORY OF THE MAURO STACCIOLI ARCHIVE
A fundamental part of the winning “Toscanaincontemporanea 2020” project, devised by Ilaria Bernardi, is the following stocktake of the paper and photographic documentation housed in the Archivio Mauro Staccioli, relating to the artist’s projects from 1971 on.
The documentation has been divided into folders with envelopes inside, following the chronological order of the projects that they refer to.
Each folder is identified with a number from 1 to 40, followed by the year(s) of the projects in question.
The envelopes in each folder contain the documents relating to a specific project created by the artist. Like the folders, they are also identified with a number, starting from 1, followed by the exhibition venue, location and the year when the project was created.
In the inventory, each envelope displays the number of documents it holds, divided by type, that is: Correspondence, Design Materials, Floor Plans, Press Release, Photographic Prints, Slides, Negatives, Negative Prints, Catalogue, Programme, Invitation, Leaflet, Logo, Catalogue Cover Design, Elevation, Drawings, Pamphlet, Poster, Catalogue Proofs, Call for Works, Postcards, Rules, Town Map, Photomontages, Guide, Dossier, CDs, Bookmarks, Notebook, Rendering and Other Documents. If there is a dash after a category of document, it means that there are no documents of that type.
This digital inventory is fundamentally important both to enable scholars to make online checks on the existence of documents on their subject of interest, and to faciltate the digitization of the archive being carried out by the Bibliotheca Hertziana – Max-Planck-Institut für Kunstgeschichte in Rome.
Many thanks to Caterina Martinelli for her precious work in carrying out this first inventory of the Archivio Mauro Staccioli.
